Dante's Adventure Society - How the Board Meets & Our Roles 

Connecting and Gathering

Our Meeting Rhythm:
• Quarterly meetings (4 times per year)
• Minimum Commitment: One general meeting within a two-year period

Meeting Format:
• 60-90 minute Zoom calls
• Occasional Special Meetings: As needed for important discussions or planning  

Board Roles and Responsibilities
Remember, no experience is needed - just bring your heart and willingness to learn.
We support each other and grow together as a board.

President 
• Leads board meetings
• Ensures the society stays true to its mission
• Acts as primary communication liaison
• Coordinates overall strategy and direction
• Manages board communication and engagement  

Vice President  
• Supports the president
• Fills in during president's absence
• Helps with strategic planning
• Assists in community outreach
• Provides backup leadership support  

Treasurer
Receiving monies and issuing disbursements
Keeping accounting records
Preparing the Society's financial statements

Secretary
• Issues notices of meetings
• Takes and distributes meeting minutes
• Manages official correspondence
• Maintains official board records
• Helps with communication and record-keeping
• Files annual report and any other filings under the BC Societies Act  

All Board Members (including members at large)  
• Attend meetings when possible
• Contribute ideas and support
• Participate in decision-making
• Provide emotional and practical support for Dante and his family
• No specialized skills required - your presence matters!
